Live images from the harbour and the city
Live streams show the harbour, the Bystranda city beach and Torvet, and road cameras cover the approaches via the E18, E39 and Rv9. That way you can see what Kristiansand looks like right now before a beach day or your journey.

Webcams in Kristiansand at a glance
Live images from Kristiansand come from two operators. The local newspaper Fædrelandsvennen shows live streams from the harbour, the city centre and the coast. The Norwegian roads authority, Statens vegvesen, runs cameras on the approach roads. The images open on the operators' own websites.
| Camera | Operator | View | Image type |
|---|---|---|---|
| Harbour | Fædrelandsvennen, also on Kristiansand Havn | Kristiansand harbour | Live stream |
| Bystranda | Fædrelandsvennen | City beach | Live stream |
| Torvet | Fædrelandsvennen | Market square in the centre | Live stream |
| Vestre Strandgate | Fædrelandsvennen | Street in the centre | Live stream |
| Lindesnes | Fædrelandsvennen | Area around Lindesnes Lighthouse | Live stream |
| Fidjane, Varoddbrua | Statens vegvesen | E39 and E18 | Still image and video |
| Other road cameras | Statens vegvesen | E18, E39 and Rv9 | Still image |
A camera only shows the present moment. For the next few days you need the forecast, and for your departure the ferry company's information. You will find both further down.
Harbour and ferry terminal
The port operator Kristiansand Havn shows a live stream over the harbour on its webcam page. The picture comes from Fædrelandsvennen, and a short advert may play before the stream. A timestamp in the image tells you whether it is current.
You can also find the same stream directly on the newspaper's site as the live camera over the harbour. It is produced in partnership with Glencore Nikkelverk. Where the ferries dock and how to get from the terminal into town is covered under Ferries.
City and beach
For the city centre and the city beach, Fædrelandsvennen shows its own live streams on its video page:
- The Bystranda live camera shows the city beach, in partnership with the Scandic Kristiansand Bystranda hotel.
- The Torvet live camera shows the market square in the middle of Kvadraturen.
- The Vestre Strandgate live camera shows the street in the centre.
More streams, for example from Varoddbrua, Oddernesbroa and Gartnerløkka, are listed in the overview of live cameras. For what to expect at the city beach, see the Beaches page.
Lindesnes Lighthouse live
There is also a stream from further along the south coast. The Lindesnes live camera shows the area around Lindesnes Lighthouse, which marks the southernmost point of mainland Norway. How to get there and what to expect is covered under Around Kristiansand.
Road cameras on the E18, E39 and Rv9
Statens vegvesen has 43 camera locations in Agder. Each camera provides a still image; only Fidjane and Varoddbrua also show video. The cameras show the roads, not the city centre or the beach. These are the locations around Kristiansand:
- Fidjane on the E39 near Flekkerøytunnelen, looking towards Kristiansand, with its own weather station
- Varoddbrua on the E18
- Monankrysset on the E39, towards Kristiansand
- Studevann on the E18, towards Kristiansand and towards Grimstad
- Stemmen on the Rv9, towards Evje and towards Kristiansand
- Dalehefte on the Rv9, towards Kristiansand
All locations are shown on the Statens vegvesen traffic map. Routes and tolls for driving here are explained on the Getting there page.
Camera images, weather and ferries
A camera image shows light, cloud and traffic, but not where things are heading. For the weather over the next few days, see the Weather page.
None of the cameras shows whether your ferry is running to timetable. Departures and changes are announced by the ferry companies themselves. You will find the terminal and connections under Ferries.
